Procedures for Posting and Replying
Help Sheet
- At the top of the page you will find the topic of the threaded discussion as well as links to home, contents, and post. [NOTE: Do NOT use the home link].
- The contents link will take you right below these links. Here, you will find a brief description of what this threaded discussion is about and what you should be posting. Please make sure you read this carefully and are posting your message to the correct threaded discussion topic. We will have several threaded discussions going at the same time so you will need to make sure you are posting to the correct one to receive credit. If you continue to scroll you will find all the postings and replies for this threaded discussion.
- The post link is the link you will use to post your message on the threaded discussion.
- Type in the subject of your post (sometimes this will be given to you within the assignments while other times you will make up your own). Please remember to do this.
- Type in your email address in the "from" box. Identifying yourself will insure you receive credit for completing any threaded discussion assignments.
- Type in your comments (whatever is required by this particular threaded discussion) in the "comments" box. [NOTE: Please be mindful of spelling and grammar. It is a reflection of the time and effort you placed on thoughtfully replying (proofing) to the discussion. ]
- Click on the "Post Article" button to post the article to the threaded discussion.
- If you messed up and decide to change your post then click on the "reset form" BEFORE you hit the "Post Article" button and it will clear whatever you have typed so far.
- Once you click the "Post Article" button you will receive a confirmation of your post to the threaded discussion and will be given a link to return to the contents page.
- When you return to the contents page you should see your post listed with all others. [NOTE: You may need to refresh your screen or scroll down to see your post.]
- Click on the posting to which you want to reply.
- At the top you will see a link called "Reply".
- Click on the "Reply" link and fill in the required fields as you did for posting a new message.
- NOTE: DO NOT click on the "Post" link in order to reply. This will create a new posting and will not be posted as a reply to anothers post.
- Once you have filled in the required field then click on the " Post Article" button.
- You will receive a confirmation and be prompted to return to the contents page where you can view your posting.
