How would you suggest I adjust this course for future students?
Throughout this course I have used several methods of gathering formative evaluation data to determine the weaknesses and strengths of the instruction I provided you in this course and to make decisions about whether or not the materials need revisions in order to make them more effective and efficient. One of the methods I have used (if you haven't already figured it out) most consistently throughout this course are the Weekly Comment Cards provided for each week that allowed you to assess the value of the instruction and material I provided as well as allowed you to make your own comments. My questions to you are:
What value/advantages (if any) did you find in me offering and you filling out these forms each week?
What evidence (if any) did you see that I was actually using the information you provided to make changes to the course throughout the semester or to deal individually with any specific problems you expressed in the comments?
If these forms had not been provided would you have felt the same freedom to provide the instructor (me) with feedback related to how the course was designed and delivered? [For example, would you have phoned or emailed me to let me know what things you liked and didn't like, how things might be improved, etc.]
Even though you could submit the forms anonymously, did you feel somewhat less than free to express your opinions because you were currently taking the course and did not want to be critical of the instructor or the instruction?
If you did not regularly fill out these forms, why did you not feel compelled to provide this type of feedback to the instructor?
