Topic Discussion Leader (20% of your grade)

One of the things that makes the Curda Cafe so special is "Open Mike Night".  On designated nights some of the cafe regulars lead the book discussions and keep the cafe atmosphere lively.  Individually or in pairs (do not ask for more than 2 people to work together), all cafe regulars (that means you) will be required to select a chapter of the text on which to lead the discussion. You will provide a chapter summary, an expansion of the topic based on your personal experience and knowledge gained from other web sites or texts, website links to expand on the topic, and student activities for engaging your peers. I will be leading all topic discussions during the first five weeks of the course so you will have a model to follow.

Chapters will be selected and/or assigned during the third week of the class. Each pair will be responsible for submitting their material by the Friday prior to the date the topic will begin (see schedule). A web-based form is provided to submit all necessary elements of your assignment.

First, see the course schedule and see the chapters we will be discussing.  You alone or with one other person will be required to select a topic from those chapters identified below.

NOTE: Anyone who has not chosen a partner or any team who has not chosen a topic by June 1 will be assigned one.
