I have received and given feedback on a multitude of possible articles this week and last.   Those of you for which I have approved 4 articles will have an 'X' in the appropriate column on the week 5 checklist in the checkout counter.  All articles are due to be approved by today.  If I have not approved 4 empirical articles for you then please get them approved before you attempt your article analyses assignment. Many of you have 2 or 3 articles already approved so I know you are able to complete the first 2 article analyses this week.  If you do not have any approved then this should be a priority before you attempt the article analyses.  Please keep sending them if you need to but remember that your first 2 article analyses are due at the end of this week (Tuesday, June 29 @ 5:00 PM).  It works out nice that we have weeks where no new readings are going on so everyone can have a bit of extra time to work on projects for the class.  I hope that everyone will continue to provide me with feedback each week and give me any suggestions as we go along on where things can be improved.

This week you should spend time reading and responding to the menu discussions from last week.  In addition, you should be working on your first 2 article analyses.  I have posted the synthesis form you will use for the final part of your research project. NOTE: This is not the form to use for the article analyses this week - that has already been posted in previous weeks and can also be found on the assignment page. Although you will not need it for several more weeks, I find it is better to give everyone a heads up so they can see what my expectations are.  The different areas I would like addressed in your synthesis are there, as well as some guiding questions to assist you.  More about this is also discussed on our menu for this week.  Make sure to check it out.

As you begin work on your article analyses this week I would like to provide a note of caution to all of you.  Please, please, please type up your analyses in a word processing program and save it on your hard drive somewhere before submitting it using the form.  Technology glitches happen and if you type it up in the form and then the server burps and your analysis is not correctly processed then you will have to do it all over again.  PLEASE do not let this happen to you.  Type it up first and save it.  Then cut and paste the appropriate paragraphs into the text boxes.
